To enable experienced retailers to broaden their outlook and understanding of strategic retail thinking, as well as equipping them with a wealth of practical ideas to take back into the workplace.

Outline of the days
Day 1
The Retail Future
A real opportunity to anticipate and explore the future trends in retailing and the practical day-to-day insights of a leading practitioner.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to network with their learning teams which is the foundation for the cross-fertilization of ideas during the week. |
Day 2
The Levers of Business
With a vision for the future from Day 1, the programme then examines the key levers which do and will contribute to ongoing success.
Through the experiences and insights of Professor Tony Hope, delegates will explore a range of commercial and financial levers for measuring the effectiveness of their own business.
During the latter part of the day, the delegates will build upon this theme by examining five key components that impact on business success, namely the economy, emerging markets, changing consumer environment, technology / innovation and the media / government. |
Day 3
The Challenging Enviroment
A unique and dynamic day which enables the delegates to examine and explore further the key factors that contribute to the challenging business environment. Delegates will be exposed to a range of different resources and have access to leading experts in their appointed field.
The experience culminates in a lively and exciting event with delegates sharing the insights and conclusions from their diagnoses and research, before joining in discussion and debate with Alan Giles.

Day 4
Entrepreneurism
Delegates will have the unique opportunity to develop innovative business plans and pitch them to a “Lions’ Den”, a panel of experienced retailers.
The wealth of ideas are then explored in both business and learning teams to give delegates the opportunity to take valuable guidance back to the workplace. |
